The Top 10 Bestselling One Piece TCG Cards - August 2025

Well, an awful lot seems to have happened since we last crunched the numbers on the One Piece TCG. I love it when seismic shifts in the game shake up the market in ways we couldn't possibly have imagined. It's just so much fun!
Long time readers of the series will know that One Piece has been swinging from strength to strength this year. I come baring good news: the big number went up again. The release of Legacy of the Master (OP12) has driven sales to record highs across the marketplace as players and collectors get to grips with tournament mainstays and new high-end collectibles.
There's also a shiny new banlist to consider. Everything from Gum Gum Giant (OP09-078) to Hody Jones (OP06-035) had their names in the discussion before the hammer finally fell on August 20th. Suddenly, we've got specific banned pairings and a market going wild for the alternative art variant of Sakazuki (OP05-041). Will the Fleet Admiral have what it takes to hang with the powerhouses of today? Somebody had to buy the cards to find out!
That leaves us with an interesting list this month. A backbone built on Legacy of the Master (OP12) with a sprinkle of the old guard to keep things interesting. Shall we take a closer look at which goodies you've all been buying this month?
#10 Luffy Is the Man Who Will Become the King of Pirates!!! (OP12-039)

[Trigger] Up to 1 of your Leader or Character cards gains +1000 power during this turn.

Here's your first of many signposts for August: Everybody is excited for Roronoa Zoro (OP12-020).
Zoro is widely believed to be the strongest new leader from Legacy of the Master (OP12), combining board control and timely aggression into a appealing strategy in the eastern metagame. It's not easy to pressure characters and leader simultaneously, but that's exactly where this leader excels.
Luffy is the Man Who Will Become the King of Pirates!!! (OP12-039) leans into that dynamic, restanding your leader for a potentially third time in a turn. Unlike Zoro's own ability, Luffy is the Man doesn't keep you from swinging directly at leader twice, so it's the perfect endgame play once the opponent has fallen to two life: strap seven DON!!! to your leader and start swinging for the hills.
#9 Hody Jones (OP06-035)
Product Details
[On Play] Rest up to a total of 2 of your opponent's Characters or DON!! cards. Then, add 1 card from the top of your Life cards to your hand.

Once Hody Jones (OP06-035) successfully survived the banlist discussions, it was bound to see an uptick in sales again. In fact, he sold a similar number of copies as last month despite a 136% price increase since May. That includes a whopping 321 copies selling on August 20th after the ban list was announced.
This is the second straight month that Hody Jones has cracked our top ten, a very impressive feat for a card that's almost eighteen months old. Regardless of which green leader you're playing, the power and flexibility of a card like Hody Jones (OP06-035) always makes it a consideration. While I don't expect to see it in Roronoa Zoro (OP12-020), Hody will still be taking names in Yamato (OP06-022), Jewelry Bonney (OP07-019) and Smoker (OP10-001).
#8 Monkey.D.Luffy (OP12-015)
Product Details
[On Play] You may reveal 2 Events from your hand: Play up to 1 red Character card with 3000 power or less from your hand. Then, give up to 1 rested DON!! card to your Leader or 1 of your Characters.

It wouldn't be a new set release without a shiny new Luffy to shake things up.
Monkey.D.Luffy (OP12-015) is a mandatory inclusion in Silvers Rayleigh (OP12-001), the snazzy new event-focused aggro deck from Legacy of the Master. As a 4000-power character than can increase his own power, Luffy threatens to be swinging for 8000 early and often.
Luffy also snowballs incredibly fast, revealing the same event cards as Rayleigh to cheat out other cheap red characters. When combined with either Boa Hancock (OP12-014) or Sanji (OP01-013), you create a pretty phenomenal board state as early as turn three.
Silvers Rayleigh (OP12-001) is the second most hyped leader coming out of Legacy of the Master, so it's no big shock to see Monkey.D.Luffy (OP12-015) selling well as a result.
#7 Tashigi (OP06-050)
Product Details
Marketplace price trend
If you want to play Kuzan (OP12-040), you need four copies of Tashigi (OP06-050). It's a simple as that.
The new blue leader leans heavily into {Navy} synergies, which is exactly where Tashigi shines. Of course, Kuzan (OP12-040) isn't the only Navy leader who's the talk of the town right now, with Tashigi (OP06-050) also commonly finding a home in the newly freed Sakazuki (OP05-041).
Much like Hody Jones, there's only so many copies of these older cards on the market. Excited new players are snapping up the building blocks they missed to try out these awesome new leaders.
#6 Nico Robin (OP12-087)
Product Details
[On Play] You may trash 1 card from your hand: If your opponent has 5 or more cards in their hand, your opponent trashes 2 cards from their hand.
Marketplace price trend
While Nico Robin has some implications inside the various black Monkey.D.Luffy decks, most of these sales are being driven by Koala (OP12-081).
Nico Robin (OP12-087) will happily jump her own cost up to enable Koala's first effect earlier in the game and gain {Blocker} to defend her. Even better, you'll shred the opposing hand of powerful tools as soon as Robin is played. If everything is going to plan, you'll have drawn bonus cards from your leader ability, and the opponent will have forcefully drawn cards from their life total to discard.
I'm not particularly high on the Koala (OP12-081) train, but it's very cool to see most leaders from Legacy of the Master getting a fair shake by the community. Unsurprisingly, both artworks are proving very popular with the collectors.
#5 Boa Hancock (OP12-014)
Product Details
[Activate: Main] You may trash this Character: Give up to 2 rested DON!! cards to your Leader or 1 of your Characters.
Marketplace price trend
As I alluded to in the entry for Monkey.D.Luffy (OP12-015), Silvers Rayleigh (OP12-001) has a pretty deliberate backbone of support releasing alongside him. Boa Hancock (OP12-014) is another part of that mandatory package.
Boa just does it all. She searches for Luffy or red events to fuel your leader ability, then willingly trashes herself to enable Monkey.D.Luffy (OP12-015) or a timely aggressive swing. Throw in the community demand of a fan-favorite character and we're onto a winner.
#4 Zeus (OP11-106)

Everyone's favorite homie has fallen from the lofty heights of the number one slot this month, but frankly I'm stunned that it's held onto number four in a month with a brand-new release.
While Belo Betty (OP05-002) did lose some of her better matchups to the recent banlist changes, the deck itself remained untouched. Zeus (OP11-106) has not only been a popular choice there but frequently pops up in a variety of other yellow leaders as well. Turns out, knocking out five cost characters on the cheap on a +2000 body is pretty darn good. Who knew?
#3 Buggy (OP03-008)
Product Details
[On Play] Look at 5 cards from the top of your deck; reveal up to 1 red Event and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.
Marketplace price trend
Talk about a throwback. Part of me forgot that Buggy even appeared on non-blue cards!
This stellar little searcher has been a fixture of Roronoa Zoro (OP01-001), Portgas.D.Ace (OP03-001) and Edward.Newgate (OP02-001) at various points in history, but truly shines alongside Silvers Rayleigh (OP12-001) in the new format. A 3000-power event searcher with upside in my event-driven aggro deck? Seems quite good, strangely enough.
We've talked about it a few times in this article, but Buggy (OP03-008) is yet another example: newer players will go back to snap up cards from before their time directly after release.
#2 Perona (OP12-034)
Product Details
Marketplace price trend
All aboard the Roronoa Zoro (OP12-020) train.
The alternative artwork for Perona (OP12-034) is my personal chase card for the set. Time and again we've seen searchers become the most important building block of any good One Piece deck. Perona (OP12-034) offers that power to Zoro on a 1-cost +1000. It's perfect.
Perona feels like the type of card that's always a safe investment. It's just always going to be good somewhere.
#1 Dracule Mihawk (OP12-030)
Product Details
[On Play] Set up to 4 of your DON!! cards as active. Then, you cannot play Character cards with a base cost of 7 or more during this turn.
Marketplace price trend
Perhaps we have a new king of green, hmm?
Dracule Mihawk crushed the list this month. The dominant eight-cost character is the perfect headliner for Roronoa Zoro (OP12-020) and Jewelry Bonney (OP07-019) while providing the perfect target for Paradise Waterfall (OP01-057) in Yamato (OP06-022). They didn't slap his face all over the marketing for fun. The card is crazy!
I haven't quite convinced myself to spring for the alternative art versions just yet, but I promise you I'm getting closer every day.
