The One Piece Card Game fourth anniversary expansion, The World's Strongest Warriors (OP-17), is set to release on August 28, 2026. Themed around the Elbaph arc and the original Four Emperors, OP-17 promises to exceed all of our normal expectations for a One Piece set. On the gameplay side, that means powerful new cards that will completely remake the format in their image. On the collectibility side, that means more super-rare alternate-art cards than ever, including rarities and treatments we've never seen before.

The most valuable base-rarity cards in OP-17 will likely be the set's two Secret Rares: Loki, and Rocks.D.Xebec. Some of the Super Rares will also be valuable simply due to their in-game power, including Shanks.

Nineteen of the new OP-17 Characters cards have alternate-art versions in The World's Strongest Warriors.

One of these, the Edward.Newgate alt-art, is the Treasure Rare of OP-17. Unlike earlier Treasure Rares however, it is not a reprint from an earlier set.

In addition to the alt-arts of prominent Rares, Super Rares, and Secret Rares in OP-17, The World's Strongest Warriors also includes a cycle of six alt-arts with the character's normal heads replaced by Pandaman's.

Pandaman, a man with the head of a panda, is a recurring easter egg in One Piece media. He's snuck into the art of some One Piece cards before, but now he's front and center in six cards, one in each color.

Each of the six new Leaders in OP-17 have alternate-art versions with a closeup on their character's face. Of these, Rocks.D.Xebec will likely be the most valuable as the strongest new Leader in OP-17, followed by Monkey.D.Luffy due to his popularity.

There are four special DON!! cards in The World's Strongest Warriors. Three of them have the golden borders we're used to seeing from special One Piece DON!! cards, and the last has an electric blue border in honor of Rocks.D.Xebec.

The Rocks DON!! will be especially valuable, both because it's unique, and because players of the new Tier 1 Rocks deck will be looking to pick up 10 copies so their DON!! decks can be on-theme.

Like some previous One Piece sets, OP-17 includes an alternate-art Event card with the same styling as One Piece's Manga Rare cards. In OP-17, that card is Are You That Afraid of the New Era?!!, the new searcher card to go with the new green Shanks Leader.

The green Shanks deck that uses this card isn't expected to be Tier 1 in the OP-17 format, but One Piece fans love Shanks, so this card will be desirable for that reason alone.

Kaido (OP17-062) has a bonus alternate-art version in The World's Strongest Warriors, illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki, the creator of Baki the Grappler. This card's popularity will likely be comparable to the alt-art Five Elders cards illustrated by Gege Akutami of Jujutsu Kaisen fame in Carrying On His Will (OP-13).

As is usual for One Piece sets, The World's Strongest Warriors contains a cycle of Special Rare (SP) cards, all of which are reprints from earlier sets with new artwork in a unified style.

Six cards from previous One Piece sets have been reprinted in OP-17 with a black-and-white style punctuated by red lines, which symbolizes their ability to use this rare form of Haki. Collectors will want to complete the set of six, and players will likely gravitate to Zoro, the most popular character of the six and the card that sees play in the widest variety of decks.

OP-17 also has a second cycle of SP cards themed after the new Four Emperors who replace the old Four Emperors later in the One Piece storyline.

Following the precedent set by the Manga Rares in Emperors in the New World (OP-09), Luffy will almost certainly be the most valuable of the four, followed by Teach or Shanks with Buggy in the rear.

The apex of collectibility in most One Piece sets is a Manga Rare card (officially a "super alternate art card"), with art taken entirely from the One Piece manga. For the Fourth Anniversary set, one Manga Rare wasn't enough. So Bandai made four, one for each of the original Four Emperors.

Of these, Shanks will likely be the most valuable, both because of his greater popularity as a character, and because this new 10-drop will likely appear across a greater range of decks than the other Four Emperor 10-drops.

For the first time, Bandai has created an additional alternate-art Leader card in the same style as their Manga Rares.

It's hard to anticipate how valuable this will be without knowing the pull rates for the set, but Manga Luffy cards have historically been the most popular cards in their respective sets. There's only one card style in The World's Strongest Warriors that's likely to compete with this.

Pirate Crew Super Alternate Art

Every One Piece anniversary set, Bandai introduces a new card style or collectibility gimmick we've never seen before. In Awakening of the New Era (OP-05), it was the Monkey.D.Luffy with the gold-stamped signature of series creator Eiichiro Oda. In Emperors of the New World (OP-09), it was the Gold Manga Gol.D.Roger. In Carrying On His Will (OP-13), it was the three Red Manga Rares for Ace, Sabo, and Luffy.

In The World's Strongest Warriors, the new special rarity is Pirate Crew Super Alternate Art.

These two cards are above Manga Rare in terms of rarity, and depict their featured characters' entire pirate crew, with art from the manga rendered in black and white with gold foiling around the borders of each character.

If the Red Manga Rares from OP-13 are any precedent, the Pirate Crew Super Alternate Art Luffy and Rocks cards in OP-17 are going to be extremely valuable—four figures minimum. With so many featured characters, all illustrated by Oda and decked out in a never-before-seen foiling style, these cards represent Bandai's best effort to date to create jaw-dropping grail cards that collectors will chase for months to come.

Bandai doesn't miss when it comes to targeting One Piece collectors, and they probably aren't going to start now.
