The Biggest One Piece Card Price Shifts in May 2026

May was a busy month for the One Piece Card Game. All month, new chapters of the anime and manga were released, and with previews of The Time of Battle (OP-16) dropping at the same time, players and collectors alike started snagging up cards left and right.
From high-end collectibles to prospective playables, all sorts of cards saw huge changes in prices throughout the month. Let's take a look at some of the largest changes!

Over the last month, all of the promos from the English 1st Anniversary Set have shot up in price like crazy! Some of them have jumped upwards of 50-60%, which is saying quite a bit when the cards were already a few hundred to begin with.

Nami started May around the $200 mark, and going into June, it was sitting closer to $600! Even though the Market Price for this card hasn't fully reflected the recent price hikes, it's still sitting at an incredibly high price point. Since the OP01 Nami has a Manga Rare version, it is a special regulation card that will never rotate out. This just adds to the card's value, as players know it will never rotate and will always be an awesome searcher for Straw Hat cards.

Everyone's favorite swordsman quickly shot up in price over the month of May. Just like with Nami, Zoro's Market Price hasn't fully caught up to the most recent sales. Even without an updated Market Price, Zoro is still sitting around four times what it was worth this time last month. As wild as that sounds, this isn't even the craziest spike we're going to look at…

The Monkey.D.Luffy from the English Version 1st Anniversary Set is probably the biggest card in the set. (I mean, it's Luffy, what else can you ask for?) This card started off in May around the $300 mark and is currently sitting at just over $1300 for a Near Mint copy.
This card has the potential to go up even more over time, as it is an exclusive Luffy card that will never be reprinted. Over the last year, it has been slowly increasing in price. It was only this last month that it really started to skyrocket.
Nico Robin's Backstory Pays Off
With the upcoming release of The Time of Battle, there have been a ton of older cards shooting up in price as the meta begins to shift around OP-16.

The first playable card that we're looking at is the alternate-art version of Dereshi! from the Premium Card Collection - Best Selection Vol. 4. This card's price went up almost 400% in May! Going from $5 to $30 card is quite a leap, especially when you look at how quickly it jumped up in price.
This card went up in price for two reasons. One is all the new trigger-focused yellow support that's coming in The Time of Battle for the Black/Yellow Blackbeard deck. Players expect Marshall.D.Teach (OP16-080) to be one of the best decks in OP-16, and with Marshall.D.Teach (OP16-119) being playable out of any yellow Leader, there's good reason to think other trigger-focused cards like Dereshi! will see more play too.
The other reason? The artwork! This timeless scene from Nico Robin's backstory is one that every One Piece fan knows and loves. The anime is currently in the early stages of the Elbaph arc, and we just saw Robin and Saul's reunion after more than twenty years of separation. As weird as it may sound, things like this in the anime do sometimes influence the market for the cards.
One Card Changes Everything for Shanks
One of the biggest reveals in The Time of Battle is the new Benn.Beckman. This card is absolutely insane for Red Shanks decks, and has caused just about every Red-Hair Pirates support card to skyrocket in price in the last couple of weeks.

The biggest gainer is Lucky.Roux (PRB02-003), which has been going crazy lately. The alternate-art shot up from around $7 to well over $30. But the real craziness comes from the regular Rare version of the card going from under a dollar to $10! A $10 Rare is crazy, but this card has only one printing in PRB02, so it makes sense it is a little more on the expensive side.
Lucky.Roux is a powerful blocker, no matter what, and lets you draw more cards when you play it. Both of these strong effects have made it an essential part of the Shanks deck since its release.
In addition to Lucky.Roux, another essential member of the Shanks deck has been rising in price as well.

At the start of May, the alternate-art Uta (OP09-002) was sitting around the $5 mark. Now it's around $15, with live listings closer to $17. Not a huge increase, but when you're looking at a card that you'd want four copies of, it can add up fast.

Since we are talking about Shanks, both of the alternate-art Leader cards for Shanks have been going up like crazy lately.
The original alt-art Leader from Emperors in the New World has doubled in price from $30 to $60. Meanwhile, the PSA Magazine Promo started May around $70 and is now comfortably at $175.
From collectibles to playables, the One Piece Card Game market is always moving and shifting around. There are a ton of cards that have started to rise and fall in price depending on their playability in the game, as well as their collectibility in a binder.
As more reveals happen in the anime, we'll see even more Elbaph-related cards shoot up in price over time. The Time of Battle will be legal by the end of June, and we'll see how it changes the metagame and what older cards will be affected by the new set.
