The Best New Decks from One Piece TCG's OP-10 Royal Blood

We aren't even a full month into the OP-10 Royal Blood format, and three new Leaders from the set are already starting to make huge strides in the competitive scene. Even with the bans last month, it is important to note that these new strategies were able to step up in a field of Doflamingo decks and Black decks spamming Gecko Moria.
The Best New One Piece TCG Decks from OP-10 Royal Blood
Out of the six new Leader cards in Royal Blood, three of them have some awesome competitive potential. Yellow Kid, Black/Blue Usopp, and Red/Green Smoker are the three Leaders we're looking at right here that all have competitive potential. Kid and Usopp have already started to see success by finishing in the Top 16 at the Brisbane Regional last month.
Kid and the Supernovas
Of the three decks, Yellow Kid has had some of the most hype coming into the new set because of the Leader ability. Yellow Kid is all about throwing huge characters onto the field and having the ability to turn them into Blockers at every turn to preserve your life as long as possible.

Yellow Decks are typically all about life manipulation, that's the typical theme for the color, life manipulation, and tons of triggers. This deck aims to do just that. You will typically sit at one-to-two Life Cards throughout the game to ensure your ten-cost Ace is always live. Cards like Basil Hawkins and the OP10-112 Kid make it so that you are forcing your opponent to lose their Life Cards without you even really needing to attack them.
This list finished in the Top 16 over at the Brisbane Regional — in a Top cut filled with Doflamingos — it was interesting to see Kid and Usopp make their debut at the top table, too. This deck can make huge pushes thanks to your high-cost characters throwing a ton of pressure onto the field.
Seven-cost Trafalgar Law works amazingly with your Leader ability because you get to gain a Life and have a 9000 Power Blocker right away, then next turn? Force your opponent to lose a Life with eight-Cost Kid. It is just really strong and scary to play against.
The One and Only God Usopp is Here!
It only took ten sets and our second TCG visit to Dressrosa for Usopp to finally get his own Leader Card. Since this story arc revolves so much around how Usopp guides the Tontattas and the slaves from the Corrida Coliseum to freedom from the Donquixote Pirates, it only makes sense that his colors match those of the previously printed Rebecca Leader.

The new Usopp deck is so freaking cool. Because of Usopp's ability, you're able to trade your Characters for additional cards and maintain a really good tempo. Something that we're used to seeing from Blue Decks, especially when you look at decks like Blue Doflamingo or Blue Boa Hancock. They're all about controlling the board and making even trades with the opponent. The Black side of the deck is all about removing cards based on their cost. When you get the chance to mix the two colors, it makes for some pretty cool plays with cards like Jozu, Roronoa Zoro, and One-Legged Toy Soldier.
Maintaining a solid tempo is really important since you want to control the characters on the field. Your Stage is giving your Dressrosa Characters the chance to attack Characters the turn you play them, so you're constantly working to control the field while building up your own surplus of characters. This deck aims to maintain that tempo throughout the game even into the later turns when you bring out your seven-cost Rebecca and use her On Play effect to throw a Kyros and either Zoro or Franky onto the board.
From there, you're typically free to start throwing your characters at your opponent, where you should have been able to maintain a solid tempo and kept your card economy up thanks to your OP10-045 Cavendish as well. All your plays combo together ensure that you're always maintaining a decent number of cards in play and your hand.
Punk Hazard Making Everything a Mess
The last deck we'll be looking at here is the new Red/Green Smoker deck. This deck features a hefty number of Punk Hazard characters, most of which are all from the Punk Hazard Arc. So you're seeing Sanji, Chopper, and Smoker — but all in their body-swapped appearances.

- 4 OP01-006 Otama
- 4 OP10-004 Vergo
- 4 OP05-030 Donquixote Rosinante
- 2 OP10-016 Monet
- 4 OP10-005 Sanji
- 4 OP10-032 Tashigi
- 2 OP07-010 Baccarat
- 4 OP10-011 Tony Tony.Chopper
- 4 OP10-030 Smoker
- 2 OP09-009 Benn.Beckman
- 3 OP06-035 Hody Jones
- 3 OP01-051 Eustass"Captain"Kid
- 2 OP06-118 Roronoa Zoro
- 3 OP04-016 Bad Manners Kick Course
- 2 OP10-018 Ten-Layer Igloo
- 3 ST21-017 Gum-Gum Mole Pistol
You also get to play some of the strongest closer cards in the game right now since this deck can run Green Boss Character like OP06-035 Hody Jones and OP06-118 Roronoa Zoro in Red/Green Smoker. These cards are dangerous when you play them in the late-game. They can quickly steal games away from your opponent, and they're even better in decks like Red/Green Smoker because of how much the deck manipulates your active and rested Don.
This deck is really cool because of your five-cost Smoker and your Leader Smoker lets you reset your Don!! during your turn. This can lead to some interesting plays where you can potentially have up to thirteen (or more) available Don!! every turn.
Your events like events are going to serve as both offensive and defensive cards Bad Manners Kick Course and Ten-Layer Igloo will give you huge boosts on your opponent's turn. While Gum-Gum Mole Pistol gives a little extra oomph on your offensive turns.
What Will OP-10 Royal Blood Fare?
While it had a strong opening month, OP-10 Royal Blood will just continue to get better and better. With the new restrictions on cards going into effect next week, there's a solid chance that more decks centered around OP-10 Leaders will see play in the competitive scene.
For now, we have to wait and find out! There are more than a bunch of regionals happening in April, and it'll be a chance to really see what decks gained the most from Moria and Jinbe becoming banned.
