The 10 Cards Everybody Wants from A Fist of Divine Speed (OP11)

The 10 Cards Everybody Wants from A Fist of Divine Speed (OP11)

The newest set for the One Piece Card Game is here! A Fist of Divine Speed (OP-11) focuses on three different storylines from the series, each one with its own set of awesome fights! We revisit Fishman Island, the second half of Whole Cake Island, and the Navy Rescue Mission on the Pirate Island of Fullalead.

The set is now officially out in the wild, so players everywhere are scrambling to nab copies of the cards they'll need for both their personal collection and their competitive strategies. This new set introduces six new Leader cards, as always, but one of them in particular almost instantly made a significant impact on the Eastern metagame. Which means, of course, that it'll continue to do so over here in the West.

The popularity of this new deck almost directly leads to some of the cards that everyone is scrambling to get right now! Let's take a look at what cards everyone wants from A Fist of Divine Speed (OP11)!

I'm putting these at the bottom of the list because, while they are super cool, they aren't necessarily new cards! The Special Rare (SP) Illustrations are always incredibly popular with each set and typically fetch a pretty penny. Since new sets always have a bundle of SP cards, and with only a few SP cards being available in a single case, it is no wonder that they're some of the more popular cards that you can pull out of your packs!

Above are the three most hyped-up SP cards in the new set: Shanks (ST16-004), Sanji (OP06-119), and Luffy-Tarou (ST18-005). Each of these cards receives a luxurious poker-style design that looks absolutely stunning. The Shanks is awesome for Green decks like Bonney or Smoker since both decks consistently play the nine-cost Shanks as a late-game removal card. Up until now, the only printing of the card was in Starter Deck 16: Green Uta (ST-16) as a Super Rare. Now we get a dope alternate art that totally looks Christmas-y with the red and green colors splashing together.

As for Sanji and Luffy-Tarou? Both will see play in all the Luffy decks that will take over the meta! The new Monkey.D.Luffy Leader is Blue and Purple, meaning you can play both of these cards. Right now, they haven't been playing Luffy-Tarou as much as Sanji, but that could change really easily! Luffy-Tarou is in a similar spot as Shanks, where this is the first upgraded printing of it.

But the card itself is somewhat newer. Sanji, on the other hand? That card is from Wings of the Captain (OP-06)! The regular Secret Rare of Sanji is expensive because the Blue/Purple Luffy deck plays the full set of them in pretty much every list I've seen. So it makes sense that everyone wants this card!

Vinsmoke Reiju (OP11-047) is a popular off-meta deck. Since there is a new Reiju card, along with a bunch of surprisingly decent support for the Vinsmoke / Germa 66 archetypes, people are picking up their playsets like crazy to make sure their Reiju decks are ready to go for the new format!

This new Reiju is fantastic because it has two of the best types of cards in one: a +2000 Counter and a searcher! Being able to cheat out your four-cost Reiju's is really easy in this deck, meaning this card will see the battlefield all the time. And when you don't need to search? No worries! You can just use it as a +2000 Counter instead.

Who doesn't like searchers? What about when the Searcher is an already popular female character? It gets even better, doesn't it?

The newer Leader cards for the Big Mom Pirates characters all have Purple in their color scheme, so it makes sense that the new Charlotte Pudding (OP11-070) would be a Purple card! In addition to having super cute artwork, the new Pudding is a super solid searcher. At my pre-releases so far, aside from the Blue/Purple Luffy, the most sought-after Leader has been the new Katakuri. The new Purple support is genuinely strong when it's all working together.

Supernova decks got a ton of support in Royal Blood (OP-10) with the Eustass"Captain"Kid and Trafalgar Law Leader cards. Supernova cards started as Red and Green, then got a bunch of Green Support with the Bonney deck. Now the support is mostly Yellow, and the new Capone"Gang"Bege (OP11-101) is awesome!

Not only is it a solid two-cost Blocker, but it also provides a unique substitution effect. Fitting with the Yellow theme of Life manipulation, the new Bege lets you move a Supernova-type Character into your Life cards if it would leave the field by a card effect. This means that you can have Bege help you dodge KO or bottom-deck events of cards like Divine Departure (OP10-019) or Gravity-Blade Raging Tiger (OP06-058)!

After Divine Departure was the first-ever Event card to get an Alternate Art, we're starting to see even more of them in A Fist of Divine Speed (OP-11).

All three of these cards look super cool. While it was first believed these Alternate Art Event cards were going to be as rare as Manga Rares, it was quickly discovered that they're more like regular Alternate Arts. So they're a bit more accessible. With one of them being a mandatory card in the new Blue/Purple Luffy deck, it makes sense that Gear Two (OP11-080) is the most expensive of the three Event cards.

Zeus (OP11-106) is low-key ridiculous. Like, that's all there is to it.

It is a +2000 Counter, KO's a five-cost or less card, and has Nami on the Alternate Art? Say less. This card is super good and will likely become a staple in most Yellow decks. It's a great removal card and has so much potential to be one of the best cards for Yellow for quite a while.

Alternate Art Leaders are always some of the most popular cards in any set. This set is no exception, as there's three Leaders that can potentially make an impact on the game. Well, we know one of them will at least…

Purple Katakuri (OP11-062), Blue/Yellow Nami (OP11-041), and Blue/Purple Luffy (OP11-040) are the three strongest Leader cards in the new set. Katakuri is all about getting knowledge of the top card in the opponent's deck, Nami is about maintaining card advantage, and Luffy is just being a bully with an onslaught of cards in his Snake-Man form. All three of these cards have a ton of potential, and Luffy is going to change the shape of the game for sure since his effect is so powerful.

The other three Leader cards in the set are all popular characters that fit with the rest of the set. Shirahoshi (OP11-022) and Jinbe (OP11-021) make their debut as Leaders representing Fishman Island. Shirahoshi is really interesting because it follows the trend of "Princess" Leader cards not being able to attack. Instead, you'll find yourself swinging with a sea of Neptunian and Merfolk cards!

Koby (OP11-001) is the newest Red/Black Leader as a member of both the Navy and SWORD. Most of the new Navy support in this set falls into those two colors, with the SWORD cards primarily being Red cards. It makes sense since red is typically a color that rushes in swinging hard and fast, and SWORD members are Navy members, who are allowed to operate without approval from the Navy. Koby has the potential to see a ton of play, but it'll just depend on what future support does for the deck type.

The new Secret Rare Blue Monkey.D.Luffy (OP11-118) card is super strong for all Blue decks.

The biggest thing about it is that it is a Blue card with Rush, which you don't see too often. Having one, especially one that has 8000-power? This card is doing so much for Blue strategies — it isn't even funny. The biggest bonus of this card is that it has one of Luffy's more popular transformations that made its debut during Luffy's notable fight with Katakuri. It was ultimately his Snake-Man form that gave Luffy the advantage he needed to win his fight.

I'm not surprised that one of the most popular cards in the set people want to pick up is a Nami card. Nami cards are always going to be popular because, well, it's Nami!

When you take the most popular female One Piece character and give her a super playable card, you have a recipe for a card that everybody wants! The new Whole Cake Island Nami (OP11-054) is awesome because it fits so well into both of the new Blue decks in A Fist of Divine Speed (OP11). Being a Blocker is awesome, and having an On Play effect that draws cards makes it even better. Both artworks for this card are also gorgeous, so it just adds to the popularity of this card. I wouldn't be surprised to see it get the SP treatment similar to the (OP08-106) Nami in the near future.

Finally, we have what feels like a custom character card: the new Super Rare right-cost Charlotte Katakuri (OP11-067)

This card is wild; it is an eight-cost, 8000-power character that mirrors the Luffy we just discussed earlier. However, unlike Snake-Man Luffy rushing into things, at this point in the fight, Katakuri is on the defensive! So he has Blocker instead of Rush! The thematics of this set are just on point, I swear.

The notable thing that makes this card so crazy is its End of Your Turn effect to ready up to two Big Mom Pirates characters, which can include itself. So you know, swing with an 8000 Blocker, then ready it. Yeah, that's totally fair. Let's be real, though, even though this card is super playable — the real reason everyone wants it? Shirtless Katakuri. This absolute behemoth of a man has a gosh darn eight-pack. I mean, there is so much fan-service in this set for Katakuri, and I'm all for it. Even the regular art of the new Leader has shirtless Katakuri!

Honestly, A Fist of Divine Speed (OP-11) is an absolute banger of a set! There are so many good cards for it that it was difficult to narrow it down to just ten. I mean, technically I didn't, but you know what I mean! For cards that everybody wants, I mainly chose to focus on the cards that are slightly more accessible in the set. Obviously, everyone wants a Manga Rare card, so rather than those and the Anniversary Gear 5 Luffys taking up the top three slots, I'd show a little more love to the rest of the cards in the set!

The Gear 5 Luffy is a special card to celebrate the game's Third Anniversary, and it is technically an SP Rare, but I feel like this one might end up being about as rare as a Manga card when it comes to the pull rates. Remember, if you pull any of these cards, do make sure you get them in a sleeve right away! Whether they're going into your collection or into your newest deck, these cards are all super popular, and everyone wants 'em!
