Everything We Know About One Piece TCG: The Azure Sea's Seven (OP-14)

It was said that to maintain world peace across the Blue Sea, Three Great Powers must exist: Marine Headquarters, the Four Emperors, and the Seven Warlords of the Sea.
We're more than familiar with all three factions. The standards and objectives of the Marines naturally put them at odds with the pirate crews of the world, thus requiring an intermediary to keep chaos in balance. The solution? The World Government offers a universal pardon to seven of the most powerful pirates to ever grace the seas, in exchange for their assistance and cooperation in quelling others. That's the balance of the One Piece universe... or at least, it was.
In the wake of Crocodile and Donquixote Doflamingo's betrayals, the World Government abolished the warlord system in favor of the Seraphim project — as a result, the remaining warlords reverted to their criminal status. These characters have remained linchpins of the One Piece narrative despite losing their titles, but it's their previous notoriety that serves as the backdrop for the trading card game's next set.

The Azure Sea's Seven (OP-14) revolves around seven of the most infamous pirates to hold the title of Warlord and several of their closest allies. Trafalgar Law, Dracule Mihawk, Jinbe, Boa Hancock, Donquixote Doflamingo, Gecko Moria and introductory antagonist Crocodile steal the spotlight as new leaders, leaving my boy Bartholomew Kuma out in the cold. Am I upset? Very. This is still awfully cool, though.

When Does The Azure Sea's Seven (OP-14) Release?
As always, no details about upcoming products are confirmed until Bandai does so. These sets tend to mirror their eastern counterparts exactly, but things are always subject to change.
Officially, Bandai has given The Azure Sea's Seven (OP-14) a release date of "January 2026." However, if we look at retailer information from stores who have placed their orders, we see an expected release date of January 16th 2026.
If you cannot wait that long to get your hands on new cards, local game stores will be running pre-release events starting Friday January 9th 2026. Be sure to contact your local stores for more information about their events.
Who Are the New Leaders in The Azure Sea's Seven (OP-14)?
The Azure Sea's Seven introduces (somewhat unsurprisingly) seven new leaders into the game, most of whom have found some amount of success in eastern territories already. As always, these leaders are spread across every color and a variety of synergies, so you should find something for you.
- Trafalgar Law (OP14-001)
- [Activate: Main] [Once Per Turn] Select 2 of your {Supernovas} or {Heart Pirates} type Characters. Swap the base power of the selected Characters with each other during this turn.

- If your opponent's Leader has the <Slash> attribute, this Leader gains +1000 power.
- [Activate: Main] [Once Per Turn] You may rest 1 of your cards: If there is a Character with a cost of 5 or more, set up to 3 of your DON!! cards as active. Then, you cannot play Character cards during this turn.
- Jinbe (OP14-040)
- [Activate: Main] You may trash 1 card from your hand: Give up to 2 rested DON!! cards to 1 of your {Fish-Man} or {Merfolk} type Leader or Character cards.
- Boa Hancock (OP14-041)
- [Opponent's Turn] When you play a Character, draw 1 card.

- Gecko Moria (OP14-080)
- [Activate: Main] [Once Per Turn] You may K.O. 1 of your {Thriller Bark Pirates} type Characters: Your Leader and all of your Characters gain +1000 power during this turn.
- [When Attacking] You may trash 3 cards from your hand: Add up to 1 card from the top of your deck to the top of your Life cards.
Mihawk is the standout for me here, mirroring the now-iconic play patterns of his OP-12 counterpart. That said, I can find tournament tops for all of these leaders in the east, so they should make for quite the shakeup in the Imu-dominated hellscape we currently reside in.
Does The Azure Sea's Seven Contain Cards from EB-04?
It does! We'll be getting some cards from EB-04 in English before they release in Japanese!
This is a big part of why there are so many unknowns about the finalized setlist for The Azure Sea's Seven (OP-14): it's not going to be exactly the same as Japan. In a targeted effort to get the western player base caught up to the eastern player base in time for unified release in 2026, the Japanese set Egghead Crisis (EB-04) is being split between OP-14 and OP-15 here in the west.
That means some of these cards will be available in English before they're available in any other language for the very first time in One Piece TCG history. How nifty is that?
What Are the Most Valuable Cards in The Azure Sea's Seven (OP-14)?
So, we're going to ignore anything coming from EB-04 for now because we have no idea which cards will appear in The Azure Sea's Seven — but we can talk about the most coveted cards from the Japanese version of OP-14 with the expectation they'll be similarly coveted over here.
The obvious hit is the Manga Rare (aka super alternate art) variant for Dracule Mihawk (OP14-119). These manga alt-arts have been one of the unquestionable hot commodities of every One Piece set since the game release and Mihawk is no different. The card is a beast, and the character hasn't previously appeared on a Manga Rare. Slam dunk, if you ask me.

If you've become a fan of the gold/silver Four Emperor cards in the last handful of sets, Buggy is here to complete the group. The artwork for Buggy (OP09-051) almost looks like a surrealist painting, and I frankly adore it. Anyone who has been collecting these simply can't go without a matching variant of Buggy.

Alternate-art events have also proven to be a smash hit in recent sets, with OP-14 offering two more for fans of the treatment. You'll Frighten Me...<3 (OP14-118) is going to be a must-have for Boa Hancock lovers, while the extended variant of Ground Death (OP14-096) goes much harder than it needs to. I expect these to be on everybody's wants list.

Finally, there are some killer special rares in this set. Dracule Mihawk (OP12-030) has been a highly played card since release, while characters like Boa Hancock (OP14-112) and Perona (OP06-093) are so popular that their highest rarities will command a premium regardless of playability. It's probably safe to say the same thing about a few of the alternate arts too, such as Nami (OP14-031) and Donquixote Doflamingo (OP14-069).
Closing Thoughts
The Azure Sea's Seven (OP-14) is a departure from the explosive celebrations of a third-year anniversary, but it pays a beautiful homage to some of the most beloved characters from across the franchise. Throw in the anticipation of EB-04 cards and a treasure trove of hotly anticipated collectibles and I'm expecting another resounding success from the One Piece TCG.
