One Piece's Premium Booster -The Best- Vol. 2 (PRB-02) is a masterpiece. The bar was set incredibly high by the first installment of the ancillary product, but the sequel has actually lived up to the hype! When was the last time you saw that happen?!

Why? Good question, anonymous reader. A mixture of 18 promising new cards and a whopping 298 reprints from across the first ten sets of One Piece. I'd argue all but two of the most requested cards from that two-year window successfully made it into the set. That's a slam dunk. Affordability is a big discussion point in trading card games, and it's become clear that Bandai view this "The Best" subseries and each wave of starter decks as the best way to drive down prices on highly coveted cards. There's a guaranteed super rare or higher in each and every pack. We all want more people playing the One Piece TCG and this is how you achieve that.

If you're a budget-savvy player or newer to the game, this is the best opportunity to stock up on staples. Some of these cards have never been this cheap, and some of them are at the lowest price point they've seen in months. I'm a booster pack fiend, so I'm just going to crack them relentlessly until I've opened everything I want. But you? You're smart, charming and attractive. You know that buying singles is the best bang for your buck.

Which ones? I'm so glad you asked.

We'll start with some of the less in-your-face secret rares. Trafalgar Law (OP10-119) entered the game back in Royal Blood (OP10) with an alternate artwork and the highly contested Manga Rare slot on lock. Characters don't end up in that slot by accident, so we knew to expect something big from the Surgeon of Death.

Did that happen? Kind of. Trafalgar Law found success in Eustass "Captain" Kid (OP10-099), Trafalgar Law (OP10-022) and even Enel (OP05-098) from time to time. Thanks to a timely reprint, this important role-player has fallen from a $20 peak to a palatable two dollars and change. It's never been easier to play these yellow Leaders.

A Super Rare making the list? Far more likely than you'd think. It's not just because of the snazzy new alt-art either!

Rebecca (OP05-091) is one of the most-played black cards in history. It features in over 1100 tournament-topping decklists since release across nine different Leaders. Sakazuki (OP05-041) and Rob Lucci (OP07-079) are far and away the main culprits, but Rebecca is just an absurdly powerful card with or without Gecko Moria (OP06-086).

Rebecca has commanded a crisp ten-dollar bill at various points in her history. You can now score a copy for 30 cents.

It'll never go quite as hard as the alternate art from Extra Booster: Memorial Collection (EB01), but thankfully it doesn't have to.

Back in August, Brook (EB01-046) was holding firm at $25 a copy. Much like Rebecca, the card formed part of the backbone for numerous black Leaders since release but felt like an auto-include in Rob Lucci (OP07-079). Consistent removal is always going to be a powerful effect, and Brook offers as much stapled to a decently sized body. What more could you ask for?

...you want copies for as little as $1.50? Fear not, you've now got that too.

Wing of the Captain? You betcha. Black Leg has been glued to Monkey.D.Luffy (OP11-040) like peanut butter to jelly.

This card is a house. Setting the top of the deck with Nami (OP11-054) before deploying 9000 power of stats and any other gigantic Character of your choosing is a backbreaking swing. You might not be cheating out Charlotte Katakuri (OP11-067) or Charlotte Linlin (OP08-069) anymore, but Dracule Mihawk (OP01-070) often proves good enough.

This former $40 powerhouse now has recorded sales at four dollars. Don't mind if I do.

The other wing is seeing a similar trajectory. Roronoa Zoro has seen an absurd level of tournament success over the years as a linchpin in Jewelry Bonney (OP07-019). It's now seeing fringe play in Roronoa Zoro (OP12-020) too. Both decks have recently been directly supported by Bandai, so why not bring down the cost of the big bad secret rare as well?

Restand and keep swinging. That's the name of the game here. Zoro peaked as high as $35 a copy in the past but had been holding steady at around $28 for some time. Following confirmation of the reprint in PRB02, the price began to steadily sink to the four dollars you can see today. Make no mistake, however. I expect Zoro to trend upwards as his popularity continues and reprinted copies dry up.

If you go back 12 months, Silvers Rayleigh (OP08-118) was sitting at almost $50 a pop and holding Shanks (OP09-001) at an eyewatering price to build. A timely reprint seems to have aligned perfectly with a slight resurgence from the former big bad of the format to allow newer players a chance to reduce opposing power with style.

I never thought I'd see the day where a copy of Rayleigh would set you back less than the price of a booster pack, but it's here. We should probably enjoy that while it lasts.

This one was so desperately needed, and I'm very glad Bandai didn't choose to get fancy by reprinting it elsewhere. No starter deck-exclusive card should be $18 a copy for any reason. It's as simple as that.

Uso-Hachi (ST18-001) is one of the best +2000 counters purple has ever seen. It's flexible, searchable and efficient at what it does. Which has led to everyone from Monkey.D.Luffy (OP05-060) to Lim (OP09-022) jamming in the full playset. That's a little daunting when it would set you back 80 bucks. How does less than one dollar a copy sound instead?

You're going to need to own these at some point if purple is even vaguely appealing. Do yourself a favor and skip out on a fancy coffee to cover them.

Frankly, it's about time.

I won't keep secrets. I had to spend $200 to acquire my playset of Cavendish (EB01-012), and my partner at the time was not happy about it. If you wanted to ride into battle alongside any {Supernova} Leader, you needed the full playset. That was a very unappealing proposition when it had never been reprinted.

Between this reprint in PRB-02 and another in the sweet new Learn Together Deck Set, Cavendish is finally down to a more palatable price of $8 each. I cannot encourage you enough to buy these right now. They're going to steadily increase in price again as supply dries up, and we've got another {Supernova} Leader on the way in Carrying On His Will (OP13). I might even buy another set just to be safe.

Extra Booster: Anime 25th Anniversary (EB02) was an impressive set that was very well received amongst players and collectors. Inside, we'd find the infamous Monkey.D.Luffy (EB02-010) that had dominated the metagame in the eastern world. Alongside him, a potent Secret Rare that would later prove to be the most important of the pair.

Monkey.D.Luffy (EB02-061) is the endgame threat for the aforementioned Leader. It's also seen a sprinkle of play in various other versions of Luffy, such as Monkey.D.Luffy (OP09-061) and Monkey.D.Luffy (ST10-002). That was enough to warrant a price tag of almost $100 a copy at the height of the excitement and a comfortable $70 for most of the year.

You can now find copies of Monkey.D.Luffy (EB02-061) on the TCGplayer marketplace for $13.50. There's even a recorded sale as low as seven bucks. With a bit of patience, you might be able to secure an entire playset for under 30 dollars.

Nearly everybody thought Bandai was going to find a reason for Mr.2.Bon.Kurei (EB01-061) to magically disappear from this set. Thankfully, the only thing disappearing is his price tag.

Mr.2 was the #1 pain point for purple players. After all, purple wants to accelerate DON!! and no other Character did so quite as well on an even curve... with a counter value... and a bonus ability that was actually relevant. Actually, one moment. What doesn't this card do?!?

The answer? It doesn't cost $70 a copy anymore. I just bought my own copies of Mr.2.Bon.Kurei (Bentham) for 18 dollars each. If I wasn't in such a rush, I may have been able to find four copies for less than one would have cost me just three months ago.

If a purple Leader has your eye, this is the time to make a purchase. Mr.2 is still a must-have card and will continue to see heavy play until it rotates. I wouldn't want you paying 70 bucks again in the future!
