The Hottest One Piece TCG Stuff Coming in 2025

The Hottest One Piece TCG Stuff Coming in 2025

Emperors in the New World (OP-09) was soooo 2024. You're still talking about Gol.D.Roger? Get with the now, old timer.

Not even One Piece can avoid the perpetual hype machine of future releases (arguably, it's a little worse than other TCGs on account of products releasing in Japan first) but that hasn't dulled my excitement for what's looming on the horizon. Thanks to the official One Piece product page, we've always got the ability to take a sneaky peek at what to expect over the coming months - which is absolutely perfect for planning out your spending!

...and annoyingly less perfect for deciding exactly what you want to buy.

Not only is there a wealth of upcoming releases to choose from, but their descriptions can be both intentionally vague or a little rough around the edges thanks to the joys of translation. Sometimes, I find myself relying on additional graphics from Bandai Premium to make much sense of things at a glance. Wonder what you'll find inside the Premium Card Collection Vol.3? Card x12. I hope that helps.

Fear not, today's article is your one-stop-shop for every One Piece TCG product scheduled for Q1 and Q2 of 2025. We'll be taking a closer look at what's been announced so far, all the coolest things you'll find inside, and which reprints absolutely demand your attention.

Sound fun? I hope so. I'm doing it anyway.

The side effect of a mid-December release is a relatively quiet start to the new year. We'll be kicking things off in style, though. ST-21 takes us back to the infamous battle against Kaido atop the rooftop of Onigashima, where we'll see Monkey.D.Luffy infused with the drums of liberation and attain Gear 5!

Starter Decks are far-and-away the best product line One Piece has to offer, with the "Ultra Deck" variations in particular doing a stellar job providing both an onboarding ramp for new players and highly coveted staples for those deeply invested. The most recent set of five decks have been selling like hot cakes since release thanks to their undeniable power, and I don't expect another Luffy offering to divert from that trend.

Even better, ST-21 sees a slight upgrade to its predecessors; coming with a set of 70 exclusive sleeves to immediately protect your new cards as you shuffle up and battle. Beyond that, you should still expect to find a paper playsheet, 10 DON!!! cards, a bonus promo pack and a selection of three new leaders alongside your brand-new deck, including the brand-new Monkey.D.Luffy (ST21-001).

Inside the deck, you'll also find new version of many members of the Straw Hat Crew, including Sanji (ST21-003), Nami (ST21-009) and Luffy himself (ST21-014). Look out for the alternative art versions of all your new crewmates inside the bonus promo pack!

Official Card Case Premium Edition Vol.1

A different style of product, One Piece offers a range of promos and accessories that're exclusive to official stores. There are a few permanent physical locations, but most of these campaigns are offered as pop-up shops with sky high demand. As a result, these products are always highly coveted on the secondary market and stand to cause quite a stir at your local game store.

These card cases are one such product; two synthetic leather deck boxes sporting One Piece branding (including the infamous Straw Hat on the -3D2Y- variant). They look incredibly polished and are sure to be a smash hit, so I'll be snapping up any that I'm able to get my hands on.

Official Sleeves 9

Typically, art sleeves aren't really my jam - but One Piece does them well.

This is the ninth set of official sleeves released so far and every single one has been a smash hit. Each collection features four different designs that you can purchase in independent packs, all featuring a fan-favorite character in glorious new artwork.

While the designs for this particular set haven't yet been revealed, you can look to the dramatic Yamato set or the pixelated Luffy set from Series 8 for a taste of the beauty and gimmicks to expect. They're designed to perfectly fit One Piece cards and prevent scuffing and dirt with or without an outer sleeve.

Personally, I'm sticking with the outer sleeve. Gotta keep that artwork safe!

Undoubtedly the biggest release on the horizon, Royal Blood will be knocking at the door before you've even had time to blink (around March 21, in fact). While the set might not have the same aura as Emperors in the New World, it does look to introduce some new leaders with serious metagame impact. Green Yellow Trafalgar Law (OP10 - 022), Red Green Smoker (OP10-001), Yellow Eustass "Captain" Kid (OP10-099) and Blue Black Usopp (OP10-042) have all found early success across the pond in Japan, with many other nipping at their heels just beneath.

In terms of collector value, the set has some haymakers. The Alt Art offerings go unreasonably hard this time around and will no doubt steal all my money. Personal favorites include Trafalgar Law (OP10-022), Kuzan (OP10-082) and the jaw-dropping Kamusari (OP10-019), but it's the reskin of Edward Newgate (ALT ST15-002) and the shiny new manga rare Trafalgar Law (OP10-119) that're ruling the roost in the Japanese version of the product - with the latter rocking a cool $600 price tag!

Japanese 2nd Anniversary Set

Card not found

My personal favorite product from amongst these early releases, Japan gets to celebrate their second anniversary a few months before us here in the west, but this product is in no way limited to the region -  a huge relief given how utterly ridiculous it is.

We'll start with the accessories - sleeves, deckbox, dice, two storage cases and a playmat. These all look exceptionally well made and stand out from across the room with their classy and sophisticated golden trim. Frankly, that playmat is absolutely jaw-dropping and might well be one of my favorites I've even seen from any TCG!

If that wasn't enough, the selection of promos is ludicrous. Sabo (OP04-083), Roronoa Zoro (OP06-118) and Charlotte Linlin (OP08-069) are among the most coveted cards in their respective colors and every other card is no slouch. Nine of the most powerful cards in the game with all-new, exclusive artwork? Sign. Me. Up.

The hardest part of the Japanese 2nd Anniversary Set is going to be getting one. If you're able, snap one up before it's too late!

April brings just one release this year — but it is one of the most beloved product lines that the game has to offer. The Premium Card Collection - Best Selection is designed to reprint heavily played cards from popular decks with an all-new full art treatment; all available inside one nifty box set. As a product, it's incredibly sweet. Who doesn't love a little bit of bling?

Sadly, I think Vol.3 misses the mark slightly. Ulti (ST04-002) will be a welcome choice for the ever-increasing number of Purple Luffy players, but cards like Dr.Hogback (OP06-090) and Ain (ST05-002) found their success inside leaders that have since fallen out of favor or become illegal for play. As a result, I expect most players to be looking for others who want to buy their share for the promos they'd prefer, while the product still makes for a killer display piece for any collector.

May is a similar story to April; one product in the best possible way. If the second Extra Booster follows in the footsteps of EB01, it'll easily stake a claim for the most important release of the year. Shockingly, I think it'll be even more impactful than that.

Extra Booster - Anime 25th Anniversary Collection has the additional selling point of being part of the celebrations for 25 years of One Piece, with every single card featuring a new illustration from artists involved in the anime adaptation of the franchise. That's huge dollar signs - these cards are going to be must haves for diehard fans for the rest of time.

If the card quality of EB01 is anything to go by, the set will likely include some deck-defining cards to play with as well. Brook (EB01-046), Cavendish (EB01-012) and Mr.2.Bon.Kurei (Bentham) (EB01-061) all saw their first printing in the original Extra Booster and the game certainly hasn't been the same since!

English 2nd Anniversary Set

The penultimate product that we're currently informed about, the western world will also be celebrating the second anniversary of the One Piece card game a little bit later in the year. While I'm certainly more infatuated with the Japanese variant of this product, there's no question that this box set kicks ass in all the right ways - and that may well be enough when it's half the price of its counterpart.

Focused around the Four Emperors of the New World, all the accessories feature the namesake pirates ruling the seas with their choice of crew. You'll find a playmat, storage box and an exclusive set of DON!!! cards that proudly champion them all, and frankly, they look awesome.

That's to say nothing of the eight promo cards you'll find inside; each Emperor sees their most recent Leader card and most powerful character card receiving awe-inspiring new artwork. That's a huge deal given how playable and popular each of these cards currently is, and the panoramic nature of the new Leader artworks is second to none.

This box rocks - it's as simple as that. If you're a devotee of any particular emperor, this is not a product you can afford to miss.

A Fist of Divine Speed (OP-11)

The final product we are currently informed about, A Fist of Divine Speed (OP-11) hasn't even been released in Japan yet, so who knows how impactful it's going to be!

Based on the official announcement over on One Piece Asia, this upcoming booster set revolves around several iconic moments from Whole Cake Island and Fish-Man Island, two fan-favorite story arcs. Am I ready to have my heart broken by Vinsmoke Sanji and Charlotte Pudding again? Definitely not. It's going to be a tearful June!

While we currently don't know the card list, I'm very curious about the "2x Third Anniversary Cards" listed in the product description. That's not something we see every day, and One Piece certainly knows how to celebrate an anniversary with coveted shiny cardboard. I do wonder what they could be?

If you're similarly invested, keep your eyes peeled as we approach March 1st for the official release in Japan. It'll give us a much clearer idea of what to expect when the product eventually arrives in the west.
