The Biggest One Piece Card Price Shifts in August 2026

August was an interesting month for the One Piece Card Game. The game is now finally set on a unified release schedule, meaning that the Eastern and Western formats are finally combined!
Now that we aren't separated by a 3+ month gap from Japan, the game is in a wild zone at the start of each format. We don't have tournament experience overseas to influence our metagame or market shifts.
Because of this craziness, we're seeing all sorts of changes in the market. Less influenced by collectors and more by the competitive player base.
Red and Black Straw Hats
The newest wave of Starter Decks featured amazing support for Red Straw Hat decks. When combined with the new Black Straw Hat support in OP-17, you have an amazing Straw Hat Sabo strategy that utilizes the awesome new Elbaph cards.
First of all, let's look at the ST-01 Brook! This is one of the 15 cards that were given an updated block number. So, even though pretty much every print of it says Block 1, it is considered to be Block 4 for legality's sake. This card has always been a solid Red Straw Hat card because of its +2000 Counter along with a solid On Play effect.
Because the Straw Hat strategy is so strong in Red and Red/Black, Brook has been going up like crazy in pretty much every printing. The original common from ST-01 is almost $5 now! At the start of August it was sitting around a quarter, so that's a huge jump. The Pirate Foil printing from PRB-02 is in a similar situation as well. It has gone from less than a dollar to around $4 on average in just a month.
Premium versions of this Brook are also going up in value, with the Tournament Pack and Premium Card Collection printings creeping up in price. The Premium Card Collection printing is probably my favorite one; it has the realistic artwork of Brook in his Soul King persona and is textured to boot! This version is currently sitting around $22, a little more than double what it was a month ago.
There are two Black Straw Hat cards that have certainly spiked in price in the last month. The first one we're going to talk about is Pirates Docking Six from OP-15. This card was originally printed as support for the Brook deck, but has quickly become a staple card in any Black Straw Hat strategy.
Black colored decks often are themed around using the Trash as an additional resource. This card is awesome for that! It gives you extra cards in the Trash while bringing out a character from the Trash. The biggest perk of this card is its continuous effect. The fact that it is an 11-cost card on the field is huge. This automatically makes OP-13 Sabo's Leader effect live. Which gives a +1000 boost to your whole field. This is a huge buff for the deck, even if you don't have the right cost on the field for your Elbaph characters, you can still boost their power with your Leader effect. This card shot up to $9 for a hot minute, but has since stabilized around the $7 mark recently, which isn't a huge dip, but it feels good to see a Rare dropping in price like this.
The Thousand Sunny from ST-14, however, can perfectly complement Pirates Docking Six and make it a 12-cost card on the field. Giving all of your characters +1 cost is incredibly strong. Even if it isn't really used in OP-13 Sabo, it is used in the Elbaph Luffy deck that premiered with OP-17. This card shot up to almost $5 in the last month!
Purple Ramps and Green Fishes
Purple and Green have both gotten their fair share of support recently in the competitive sense. On the Purple Side, we have the new support for Animal Kingdom and Big Mom Pirates. OP-17 Kaido and OP-11 Charlotte Katakuri are both really fun strategies and have caused plenty of cards to shoot up in price.
Let's start with EB-04 Queen, released for us in the OP-14/EB-04 set. This new Queen is essential to the new Kaido deck, since it gives an easy recurring ramping effect that you can use multiple times. Because of the new Kaido deck, Queen has shot up to almost $4 a copy. I'm honestly surprised it isn't more, considering it comes from a larger booster set and is a little harder to pull because of it.
We also have the OP-11 Charlotte Pudding, which used to be a bulk SR, now sitting around the $6 mark! This is your main searcher in Purple Big Mom Pirates decks. Purple Big Mom Pirates decks are getting more popular, with both Katakuri and Pudding Leaders being viable options for the decks. The Alternate Art for Pudding has also been going up quite a bit over the last month. At the start of August, the alt art Pudding was sitting around $15, and now it is closer to $30! This is a huge jump for an SR that hasn't seen a lot of competitive play.
Alright, one of the most hyped up decks right now is the Green Mihawk deck that utilizes the new 10-cost Shanks from OP-17. Resting your opponent's field is strong; getting 2 Don back when you do so is even stronger. So what do you do with those 2 Don? Play Vander Decken IX to KO any Character your opponent controls!
Being able to KO anything, even a 10-cost character, at the cost of a Fish-Man Character from hand is insane. It has single-handedly caused cards like OP12-023 Kawamatsu to shoot up in price. Pretty much every Green deck is playing Shanks right now, so every Green deck is playing Vander Decken and Kawamatsu to make sure they have enough Fish-Man cards to discard to clean up the opponent's field.
Nico Robin Takes The Spotlight
One of the strongest Leaders right now in the competitive scene is OP-09 Nico Robin, which recently got a huge boost from all the Yellow Big Mom Pirates support in OP-17. The crazy thing about all of these new Yellow cards is that they aren't locked to a specific Leader or Leader Type. Meaning that every Yellow deck can play them!
Nico Robin is one of the coolest Yellow Leaders because she has Banish and she has access to Gum-Gum Giant. Banish is a crazy powerful ability in a format where hand advantage is everything. Since those Life cards never end up in the opponent's hand, you're constantly putting more pressure on your opponent.
As for Gum-Gum Giant? That's still just one of the strongest cards in the game. Hands down. Sure, you have to go -2 on your Don, but with how much this deck can ramp, you don't even mind.
The Alt Art Nico Robin Leader has jumped up from around the $70 mark to almost $160 in the last month! Both the competitive side of the game and Robin being a fan-favorite character are to blame for this huge price spike.
This has been an interesting month for the One Piece Card Game's market. With a ton of cards rising in price, those who hold onto their bulk are rejoicing. While we only looked at price spikes, there are still cards that have dropped a ton in value recently. All of the Round1 promos have tanked in value, but that's also because of the fourth wave of their release. With more waves of releases on the way, the Round1 promos should continue to dip in price until they're a little more reasonable.
