3 Decks for Season 2 of Live-Action ONE PIECE

Season 2 of Netflix's live action ONE PIECE adaptation drops today, and what better way to celebrate than with some One Piece Card Game decks custom-built for the occasion?
Picking up right after the showdown at Arlong Park, Season 2 will take us through the Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island arcs. It's in these arcs that we meet some of the show's most iconic cast members, from Laboon, to Nefeltari Vivi, to Nico Robin, to everyone's favorite reindeer Tony Tony Chopper.
Not all of these characters have their own Leaders in the One Piece Card Game, but there are more than enough cards to build out fully-themed—and even quite powerful—decks to commemorate the Season 2 cast. Here are 3 beginner-friendly decks themed around ONE PIECE Season 2 that pack enough punch to take down your next local.

He may have built his reputation as One Piece's cute mascot, but Red Green Chopper is an absolute menace of a deck, using the Animal package to pull off one of the strongest board swarms in the entire game. Once he's secured the board, Chopper can use his Leader effect to attach rested DON!! to his Animal and Drum Kingdom-type Characters, converting small bodies into game-winning pressure.

This version of the deck uses some of the strongest Animals in the game, starting with the classic 3-cost 5000-power Chopper that plays an Animal from your deck both On Play and When Attacking. By dropping one of these on 3 DON!!, you can fill your board by turn 3 as your opponent fights to gain a foothold.
The deck has a few new Animals up its sleeve too, like game changing +2000 counter Megalo which KOs a rested Character with 8000 power On Play and the +2000 counter Humandrill, which rests a 4-cost Character whenever it's rested.
Once you've got the board, you can drop even scarier Straw Hat threats like the 6-cost SEC Luffy from OP-13, which has Double Attack and gives you back 4 DON!! that you can use to refill your board or power up your swings.
Lastly, we've got the SR Blocker Nami from OP-14, which can rest your opponent's blockers while protecting your own board from the crackback. Use this to keep the pressure up in the midgame while prepping for the win on following turns.
You can also use the DON!! refunded by Nami to protect your life or board with Events like Spider's Web and Dead Man's Game.
Those who want even more OPLA flavor can switch out the 1-cost searcher Nami for the 1-cost Dr. Kureha searcher from OP-08. Dr. Kureha doesn't find quite as many targets, but she just looks so good in a Chopper deck.
EB-03 Blue Red Vivi Deck

Deck List:
- 1 Nefeltari Vivi (EB03-001)
- 2 Ace & Sabo & Luffy (OP13-007)
- 4 Nefeltari Vivi (OP13-012)
- 3 Igaram (OP04-002)
- 3 Sanji (OP10-005)
- 2 Tony Tony.Chopper (OP10-011)
- 4 Nami (EB03-006)
- 2 Nefeltari Cobra (OP13-011)
- 4 Benn.Beckman (OP09-009)
- 4 Terracotta (EB04-024)
- 2 Charlotte Pudding (OP06-047)
- 4 Nefeltari Vivi (EB03-024)
- 4 Nami (OP11-054)
- 4 Nefeltari Vivi (EB04-025)
- 4 Chaka & Pell (EB04-023)
- 2 But If We Ever See Each Other Again... Will You Call Me Your Shipmate?!! (EB03-011)
- 2 Gravity Blade Raging Tiger (OP06-058)
Okay look, I know the Characters in the new EB03 Vivi deck are mostly themed around the Alabasta arc, but let's not forget that Vivi actually makes her first appearance in the Reverse Mountain arc as Miss Wednesday, and plays a big role in the story leading up to Alabasta.

[Activate: Main] You may rest this Leader: Give up to 1 of your opponent's Characters 2000 power during this turn. Then, up to 1 of your Characters without a [When Attacking] effect gains [Rush] during this turn.

Additionally her deck is brand new, easy to learn, and a ton of fun to play.
By resting her Leader card, Vivi gives an opponent's Character -2000 power and can give any of her own Characters Rush, as long as said Character doesn't have a When Attacking effect. That means you can turn a card like OP-09 Ben Beckmann into a 7-cost 7000 power body that trashes an opponent's 6000-power Character and has Rush. That's absolutely insane value, and it's only the first part of Vivi's Leader effect.
The second part of her ability lets you save a Character from being KO'd by discarding a card once per turn. This doesn't just apply to KO effects, so if your opponent is swinging 7000 at your 5000-power Character you can save it with just one card!
This Vivi-forward build uses 5-cost Vivi to play a Straw Hat Character from the hand, ideally the 7000-power Alabasta Nami, and 7-cost Vivi to summon Chaka & Pell, an 8-Cost 9000-power Character that draws 2 cards, has Double Attack, and can be given Rush on the turn it's played.
You'll develop your board, rush down your opponent, and use blue staple cards like Gravity Blade and Pudding to seal your victory. It's powerful, easy, and can be tweaked to your liking with pretty much any strong On-Play Character you like.
OP-14 Black Crocodile Deck

Deck List:
- 1 Crocodile (OP14-079)
- 4 Ms. Wednesday (OP14-083)
- 3 Ms.Goldenweek(Marianne) (OP14-085)
- 4 Miss.Valentine(Mikita) (OP14-087)
- 4 Miss.MerryChristmas(Drophy) (OP14-088)
- 4 Mr.2.Bon.Kurei (Bentham) (OP14-091)
- 4 Mr.4(Babe) (OP14-093)
- 4 Miss Doublefinger(Zala) (OP14-086)
- 4 Mr.1(Daz.Bonez) (OP14-090)
- 4 Ms. All Sunday (OP14-084)
- 4 Crocodile (OP14-120)
- 3 Haute Couture Patch Work (OP05-094)
- 4 Ground Death (OP14-096)
- 4 Disappointed? (OP14-099)
Pretty much the exact opposite of Vivi, the Warlord Crocodile won't play much of a role in ONE PIECE Live Action Season 2, but his deck is full of Baroque Works villains that we're sure to see in the Little Garden arc.

[Activate: Main] [Once Per Turn] You may K.O. 1 of your Characters with a type including "Baroque Works": Give up to 1 of your opponent's Characters -10 cost during this turn. Then, you may trash 2 cards from the top of your deck.

The theme of this list is cost reduction, but with a twist. Where black decks used to reduce costs to remove Characters, Crocodile actually can't remove enemy Characters at all–it even says so in his Leader effect. Instead, Crocodile can KO one of his own Characters to reduce the cost of an opponent's Character by 10 and trash 2 cards from the top of the deck.
In the early game this deck uses the Leader effect to KO its smaller Characters like Miss Goldenweek and Mrs. Merry Christmas. He can then use cards like Miss Doublefinger and Mr. 1 to punish the opponent's cost-reduced Characters, resting them and attacking them while boosting the costs of his own board.
Later in the game Crocodile builds up his board with the 7-cost SR Miss All Sunday–AKA Nico Robin–that summons 2 other Characters. Then, this deck seizes full control of the game with the 8-cost SEC Crocodile, which freezes an opponent's Character, draws a card, and can resummon itself from the trash On KO—leading to a freeze chain that keeps opponents locked up until the game's over.
Helping close out the game is Ground Death: the new staple 1-cost Event that can work as a +3000-power counter, or, when used during the Main phase for 3 DON!!, can negate an opponent Character's effect—essentially getting rid of a blocker in the late game for a low cost.
